New Customers

I’m considering care for my loved one, can you still take on new customers at this time?

Yes, we are taking on new customers at this time and we have put in place new processes and procedures to ensure the safety of all our new customers. Our free home care assessments are being carried out via phone or video link so that we can reduce non-essential contact. All assessments now include COVID-19 symptom checks and we continue to liaise with hospitals if testing has been carried out prior to discharge. We have a dedicated COVID-19 team who are caring for clients who have tested positive.

What services can you support my loved one with during lockdown?

All normal services can be delivered following a phone assessment of your care needs.

Existing customers

Is it still safe for my loved one to receive home care?

Yes, we provide all our care staff with the correct PPE and keep up-to-date with government guidance around this. All our staff receive the latest training around wearing PPE equipment and additional measures have been put in place to keep our staff and customers as safe as possible.

What extra precautions are Seacole Cornwallis taking?

Our staff are receiving additional training in PPE and infection control. We maintain regular contact with both care staff and customers to check on their wellbeing and health. If any staff member presents symptoms, they are immediately removed from work and sent for testing. They will only return to work if the test returns negative, and they are feeling well enough to work again.

Will Seacole Cornwallis still provide care for me or a loved one if I’m/they’re self-isolating?

Yes, our staff will still be providing care to you or a loved one regardless if you/they are self-isolating. Our staff follow procedures at all times to ensure the safety of everyone.

Will Seacole Cornwallis still provide care for me if I have Coronavirus?

Yes, we have a dedicated COVID-19 team who support our clients with the virus and they wear the additional PPE equipment.

Should I consider moving or moving my loved one to a care home?

No. We will still be providing the same level of care regardless if you or a loved one are self-isolating, have symptoms or have been tested positive for COVID19. We have specialist teams that will be caring for those who have tested positive.

Should I consider moving or moving my loved one to a friend or family member?

This is a personal decision, and we understand that isolation and loneliness can be difficult. At Seacole Cornwallis, our carers are trained not only in the delivery of care, but in providing a positive and compassionate experience for our customers. We have a team of expert carers based in our head office who are here to help with any concerns you may have about someone struggling during this time.

“I have had personal experience of the standard of care and humanity Seacole Cornwallisrs demonstrate. Last Friday I tripped and fell, hitting my head on the pavement. An Seacole Cornwallis worker saw me on the ground and came over to assist me and was then followed by another care worker. They were both very kind and reassuring and carried out First Aid before calling an ambulance crew to check me out as I had a large graze to my head, and the bridge of my nose was cut from my glasses, and was obviously shaken. Another care worker assisted me up and I was taken to their office to wait for the Paramedics. It is so important to mark when you find kindness in people and I know that the tenants at Chilton Green are in very good hands. The lady I visited today told me ‘the girls are my life’.”
